They call us "old people"
We were born in the 40s-50s-60s.
We grew up in the 50's-60's-70's.
We studied in the 60s-70s-80s.
We were together in the 70s-80s-90s.
We got married and discovered the world in the 70s-80s-90s.
We ventured into the 80s-90s.
We stabilized in the 2000s.
We got wiser in 2010s.
And we go firmly into 2020 and beyond.
Turns out we've been through EIGHT different decades...
TWO centuries apart...
TWO different millennials...
We’ve gone from long distance telephone operator to video calling worldwide.
We've gone from slides to YouTube, vinyl records to online music, handwritten letters to emails and Whatsapp.
Live games on the radio, black and white TV, color TV, then HD 3D TV.
Went to the video store and now watching Netflix.
We have known the first computers, punch cards, disks and now we have gigabytes and megabytes on our smartphones.
We wore shorts throughout our childhood, then long pants, Oxfords, elephant legs, overalls, and blue jeans.
We have avoided childhood paralysis, meningitis, polio, tuberculosis, swine flu and now COVID-19.
We've done skateboarding, tricycle, bicycle, bike, bike, gas or diesel and now we drive hybrids or electric.
Yes we've been through a lot but what a beautiful life we had!
They could describe us as “exannuals”; people who were born into this 50s world, who had analogue childhood and digital adulthood.
We've kind of "seen it all"!
Our generation has literally lived and witnessed more than any other in every dimension of life.
This is our generation that has literally adapted to "CHANGE".
A big congratulations to all the members of a very special generation, which will be UNIQUE.
Precious and very true message I received from a friend...
TIME DOESNT STOP.
Life is a task we bring ourselves to do at home.
When you look... it is already six o'clock in the afternoon;
when you look... is it Friday already;
when we look... the month has ended.
When we look... the year is over;
when we look... 50, 60 and 70 years have passed!
When you look... We don't know where our friends are anymore.
When you look... has lost the love of our life... and now it's too late to turn back.
So...
Don't stop doing something you love because of lack of time.
Don't stop having someone by your side. Your children won't be yours soon and you'll have to do something with this time left, where the only thing that will be missing will be the space that can only be enjoyed with regular friends if you're lucky enough to have them.
Time that unfortunately, never comes back....
* The day is today! *
*WE ARE NO LONGER AT THE AGE TO POST LATER. *
