Playing golf is fun, most of the times..

On a sunny day at the old golf course,
I grabbed my clubs, felt no remorse.
With a swing so strong, and a stance so bold,
I aimed for the green, or so I was told.

First shot went left, then bounced to the right,
The ball had a mind, it took flight!
Into the pond, with a splash so grand,
I thought to myself, "This wasn’t planned."

Next hole was tricky, a par three they said,
My ball found a bunker, it filled me with dread.
With sand in my shoes and grit in my hair,
I wondered why golf was my chosen affair.

A birdie, a bogey, a double, a triple,
Counting my strokes, it’s really quite simple.
But when you lose track at twenty or more,
You start to wonder what you play golf for.

Yet on the 18th, with a swing that felt right,
The ball soared high, oh what a sight!
It rolled to the hole, it teetered, then fell,
A hole-in-one! Oh, what a story to tell!

So here's to the golfers, both good and bad,
For every lost ball and every fun fad.
For in this great game, no matter the score,
We keep coming back, always wanting more.
