Did you ever think
It’s possible
You can’t go for a drink?
Impossible!
Not only your local pub shut down
It’s every place, in every town!
You thought you could see your friends any day
Unless, of course, they live far away
Now you cannot do that any more
You can only visit the grocery store
Other shops are closed, like restaurants and pubs
Theaters, sports and social clubs

You can’t go to the park or the pool
Kids cannot even go to school
Grocery stores are the only place
Where you can still go, if you cover your face
Of course, they sold out of every mask
So people got creative, sat down to the task
To make their own, sew, crochet or knit
It’s pretty amazing, but they all fit
You have to wait in line, stand 6 feet apart
The floor is marked like a piece of art

You can’t take a trip by ship, bus or train
And you certainly cannot go by plane
Want to go to the beach? Cannot do it!
Like to go camping? Forget about it!
Workplaces have changed very much
People wonder what to do, some lost touch
Others work from home, many work no more
Only hospitals are busy, like never before!
The stock market fell like a ton of bricks
People’s savings diminished, now they have nix

The whole world is affected, so we are told
No one is spared, rich, poor, young or old
But when seniors get the disease
They are more likely to decease
Who is to blame? Who has done this to us?
It’s the nasty, poisonous corona virus!
Hey corona, don’t you think you have done enough?
Stop spreading, or we will get really rough
We will find a cure or a vaccine
And we will defeat Covid-19

We will all be free again
Work, play and cheer again
Open wide our door
And do so much more
Get our nails done and our hair
Go to the mall and to the fair
See our friends
And shake their hands
Give big hugs to family
Where ever they may be
Once again we will enjoy our life
All together celebrate and strive!
